Criteria for Naturalization
• Be at least 18 years old
• Live permanently in the United States for at least 5 years (with a green card),
or for 3 if married to an American citizen
• Have lived in the United States for at least 30 months of those 5 years
• Be able to read and speak English
• Understand the principles of American government
