If a car is driven down a hill, the driver must put more pressure on the brakes to make the car stop than if it was on level ground. Explain your answer.

On level ground the force needed is less as it does not involve the weight of the car.
When driving down a hill the force needed will also include a component of the weight (depending on the incline) so more force needed so more pressure on the brakes is needed.
