After the box leaves the spring, the box goes through a region in the ground of length d = 0.85 m where friction acts on the box with a kinetic friction coefficient μk = 0.27. After leaving this region of length d, there is no more friction. The box comes to rest after it reaches a height h above the ground. The acceleration due to gravity is g = 9.8 m/sec2, as usual.
