Our Sample size is 42 rocks total.  If we want to pick one red rock out of the 42, we first have to determine the possibility of doing that from the numbeer of red rocks we have total.  There are 6 red rocks, so the probability of picking one of those is

6/42 or 1/7

There are 14 blue rocks.  So the probability of picking one of those is

14/42 or 1/3

There are 22 white rocks.  So the probability of picking one of those is

22/42 or 11/21
