wdym couldn't they become rich? their was a HUGE wage gap between white and blacks at the time, not to mention they made money off of the working slaves, plus what is becoming rich ganna do? If most of the  white cops are racists, and your black if a white person is hitting you how are you meant to stand up without getting arrested? as a slave your master will whip you for no reason, and if you dare disobey or rebel then chances are you'll be dead on the spot. They were kidnapped troughout africa and forced into slavery, by whites.  Whites had all the power, and the only thing you can do to have your life spared was work for them. But the truth is that long after the Civil War, white Americans continue to carry the same set of white supremacist beliefs that governed their thoughts and actions during slavery and into the post-emancipation era. They had took them by suprise kidnapped them and forced them to work how in the ever loving world are you meant to sand up to someone with a gun ( unless you  have god speed dodging skills)
